How it all began

I started my pet sitting service in 2014 and also began writing for the Watercraft Journal. One of my jobs involved a live aboard boat. It belonged to my vet who lived on it with her macaw, a few dogs, and cats. The boat was at the docks on the Cape Fear River and I enjoyed going down there. It was even better when I stayed overnight. I’d have tea at night in the upper bridge. The serenity I felt was incredible and I slept well on the boat. By this time I was having shoulder problems and had one surgery in the rearview mirror. While recovering from the second surgery, I remember sitting at my desk, Possum Cat in my lap, my left arm in a sling, and I came up with a brilliant idea. I was going to buy a boat and start a magazine. Six years later, I bought the boat.
